Rear Sway bar options?

Looking for info on rear sway bars for our trucks... actually '60-'72.

What are some companies that make rear bars, and how do they attach to the truck?
Even a list of companies that make them, and/or some installation instructions would work.
I went to Hellwig's site, but it was slow and borderline useless.

Thanks,
-Brad

Re: Rear Sway bar options?

I Googled "Hellwig" and found this link for a seller in addition to the Hellwig site. It has Hellwig and another brand. Maybe it'll help.

http://www.suspensionconnection.com/...ry=Sway%20Bars

I put a Hellwig rear bar on my 69 in 1971 and took it off when I started my restoration a couple years ago. I bought it to help handle the large cab-over camper. I won't be using it again.

Re: Rear Sway bar options?

Thanks guys.
Someone told me there's one that attaches by the shock mounts, or that area. Anyone seen that?

Then there are threads like this where people have used camaro sway bars. I'm just not sure which year.

Re: Rear Sway bar options?

I haven't looked to see if Addco makes a '60-72 rear bar, but I've used their rear bars on two different trucks ('92 C1500 & '05 Sierra 1500) and the installation was pretty straight forward with very good instructions. It's probably worth the time to just give them a call.

Re: Rear Sway bar options?

Looks like Addco makes a 7/8 inch bolt on rear bar for our trucks.

The rear sway bar that cpp sells is Addco. It is USA made and a nice product. Summit Racing has the best price on them I have found.

Are they only for coil sprung rear ends....or does Addco make one for leaf spring set ups also?

This one says for "leaf spring only"

I like to see one installed. Does it install behind or in front of the axle?

Re: Rear Sway bar options?

The coil versions seem to mount to the flats of the factory trailing arms, I'm planning on using the Porterbuilt tubular arms is there a sway bar that would easily work with those?
