Lets see your bed wood.
I'd like to see bed wood in either kit or homemade. Even diamond plate or whatever you have.

I did this because it was free. A bed floor out of a 78 longbed truck. I just cut it down. Reused all of the original under floor braces from the longbed and everything.

haha, bed wood. I dont think that they allow those type of pics.
 I im going to put the orignal wood back in after my 74 box is painted. My 75 I used a oak kit with ss everything

the tie downs went in nice no problems had to dremel some wood to make them flush fit but the seems to be ok

I reused all of the crossmembers and supports from the longbed. By cutting the floor front and rear, I kept the supports in the same places where they originally fell on the longbed configuration except with the front and rear chopped off for the now short bed configuration.
If you look closely in the last picture, just above the hammer handle and near the pliers you can see that I reused the original bed mount bolts and spots that were embossed in the longbed floor. I did have to drill the two front most mount holes, but the spots were basically there in the frame. I just bolted the rest of the bolts down and passed a drill down through the front pair of holes through the frame rails. The holes already being in the bed floor acted as a drill guide to pass the drill down through without a bunch of tedious calculations. Posted via Mobile Device |

4X8 sheet of 3/4" cabinet grade plywood cut into 12" boards coated with clear poly. These are old pics I've since added stainless strips and chrome screw covers.
In one pic you can see a 2X4 at the rear cross sill. 2X4's are bolted across all the cross sills to raise the floor (air ride) and provide a mounting point for all the screws holding the floor in place.
