Has anyone changed the cab mounts without pulling the cab? Mine squeak a lot and they need replaced, but I don't want to pull the cab.

Can I just break them loose and lift the cab enough to sneak the new ones back in? Maybe do one side at a time? tips?

Some "how to" from some of you guys that already did this would be a help. I did a search and could not find this topic.

Yes, one side at a time. Make sure you shim the core support if needed for proper alignment of fenders to doors. What you change in height on the cab will effect front end sheet metal.

So you don't think the new mounts will squish down to the height of the old ones, so I wouldn't have to mess with the core support?

Any further input?

It's only 2 bolts on core support.... And doubt the new body bushing will "squish"... To same height. If they do then you tightened them down too much....

Just consider that fact that if there is any difference in height, the doors probably will not shut right and you will have panel alignment problems.

You may be able to chnge the cab mounts and be OK. You won't know until you do it, what the result is going to be.

I like to think of the cab and front sheet metal as one piece because what you do to one, will effect the other somehow.

I did the same this on my 1960 GMC years ago. Pulled all the bolts and lifted one side at a time. It was easy as my front end sheet metal was off. It turned out to be a waste of effort when I discovered the mounts I was sold looked nothing like my originals. At the time no one produced mounts like mine, so I had to reinstall the bolts and leave them alone.
