Help with my ECE 4/6 stance?

This has been bugging me for a while and thought I needed to seek some opinions from some experts. I believe I have a 4/6 ECE drop but it does not seem to look like others I have seen. Too much rake and not low enough in the back... Shouldn't it be more level? Is there anything I can do short of new springs to bring it down in the rear to more closely match the front? I can take additional pictures of the rear setup tomorrow if that would help but seems to be springs and shock re-locaters only. Thanks

You can get drop blocks for the rear. The block goes under your axle and drops your back down. You can get them in 1,1.5,2ins and maybe more. I think brothers has some. They shouldn't be hard to find. They aren't very expensive. Just blocks and u-bolts I believe. That should even you out. Just make sure you have the room between the top of your axle and the frame. Might have to shave the bump stop a bit. Good luck

By the spacing between the tires and fenders it looks like a 3/4 drop...

Does anyone have some ground to fender well lip measurements on a 4/6 that I can calibrate to? Would that be a good way to determine exactly what I have?

Here are my measurements:
Drivers side front 27 3/4
Drivers side rear 29

Passenger side front 27 1/4
Passenger side rear 29

I believe that you would also need to have the same tire and wheel sizes in order to get an apples-to-apples comparison.

Looks like mine when it had the ece 4/6 , now I'm at 5.5/7.5 drop

I am going through the same problem in the opposite direction. Mine is too high in the front with a 4/6 ECE drop. Measure the center of hub to top of fender arch and that will tell the story. ECE said to me that there is supposed to be a 1" rake from back to front. I will have to check my measurements and get back to you, but I think it's supposed to measure about 14" in the front.

Here is what I have from center of hub to bottom of fender well lip:

Drivers side front 15"
Drivers side rear 16 5/8"

Passenger side front 14 7/8
Passenger side rear 16 3/8

This ends me up with about an 1 1/2 inch rake.

Sklptrljay - Check you measurements and let me know what you have. The kit was already on the truck when I got it so at least you know what you bought and that will be a good calibration for me. If you are at 14" from the 4/6 that puts me an inch high and may have me back closer to the 3/4.

Does anyone know how ECE markets this kit? Do they call it a leveling kit anywhere along the line?

I don't know jack about ECE's drop kits, but I do know that's a sweet rig you have there. I'd throw a 1" block under the rear and call it done! 1/2" of suspension rake would be just right if you're running the same size tires all the way around.

I did a 4/6 drop abd was level then changed the motor and now have a 2" rake. Putting some blocks in the rear will fix that. Also, keep in mind if your drop kit was all spring or a combo of spring and hardware.

For example an all spring drop will not be the same as a drop spindle and spring combo. The measurement on the spindle is a set distance, whereas the spring is an estimate. No 2 trucks will be the exact same. You have to finesse it a little to get the perfect stance.

Hence the reason I am doing blocks. Get it close with the kit, then fine tune with blocks.

Ok, found my measurements! My fenders are off so I had to find the paper I wrote them down on. I am at 16" center of wheel to top both sides in the front. 15 3/8" both sides in the back. ECE confirmed to me I am about an inch high in the front. I am going to swap springs out as soon as I get a chance.

Sounds like your front is pretty close, maybe just throw some blocks in the rear and you'll be good to go.

carls racing products is excellent with parts for this and service
they have the bolts and blocks
you can go longer with 3" like i did but everyone is afraid of the scrub line, im a risk taker lol

this is from when my truck had the 4/6 kit from ece with 18's up front and 20's in the rear. Truck was never even it always had that rake..

I added 2 inch blocks to mine to lower the rear but that required a frame notch to keep the axle from pounding the frame. CPP components were all used including a cnotch bolt in plate.

Thanks all for the great info. Looks like I will have some blocks in my near future. Surprised at what they cost though. Gonna check out vegadesign's recommendation and hope they are a little cheaper there. Sometimes its like tossing money into a never ending well. Guess thats why I keep getting up and going to work each day...

Thanks sklptrljay for taking the time to find your measurements. We are in exact reverse on measurements. Seems these thing vary pretty widely. Not sure why that would be, seems pretty simple. You might need to drop a big block in yours to get it lower

If you can locate a spring shop near you, they can make the u bolts for about $25. The block is literally a block of metal. You can buy one and put it on the drill press and make your own, or if you want to save time have a metal/welding shop drill them.

Hey bro, I'm almost guessing you may have 4in springs in the back. The setup on my truck was 4inch springs in the rear and 2in springs on the front. The rear measurements were L/H rear 30 in. and R/H rear 29 3/4 in. before i put my 4/6 kit from ECE this past weekend. I also used a 1inch block in the rear which I'm glad i did. The rear now measures 27 1/4 if i'm not mistaken.

I didn't have enough time to install the front, so this should be going in hopefully this weekend. Here's a pic of how the rear looks now. The tires on my truck are 255/55/17 on all 4 corners. Hope this helps in any way.

C10Dream'n Looking good. Can you tell me what your back now measures from center of the wheel to the bottom lip of the fender well? Mine is currently in the 16 1/2 range averaging the both sides. I want mine to look like yours in the back so that will help me decide if I need and inch or an inch and a half block. Also how is your frame clearance in the back with the block. Do you have a notch? Post another picture for me after you get it done this weekend.

Thanks for the compliment. It measured out at 14 1/2. I will be getting a c-notch put in at the end of the month. I will post a pic if I get the front done this weekend.
