what is a G78-15 equal to in todays tires?

I looked this up the other day. I have one on my 72 step that is a BFG. Looks real old. Does not have whitewall. But the answer to your question is 215/75/15.

Here are some stock tires. I believe these are G78-15s.
I agree that modern 215 75/15s with square tread come the closest to matching the stock look. If you could find a 215 80/15 that would be even better but I haven't been able to find anything in that size.

Here's that BFG. Not sure if it's original to the truck. It's really tapered. If you find where to buy em without whitewall like this let me know.

That what I needed to know.. I am debating between 215 or 225. I will be using full wheel covers.
