Factory am-fm truck radio
i have a total working am-fm truck radio up f/s, i decided to go aftermarket. the dial wont go all the way to the left when manually tuning. minor specs in face, i have new am-fm inserts that go with it, fm insert was faded. i bought this 2 years ago and just tested it and it lights up as it should, no static! 275.00 shipped

Re: Factory am-fm truck radio
Are the AM FM filters NOS. if so would you sell them separately? I have new aftermarket ones I would give you.

Re: Factory am-fm truck radio
I'm interested in the unit. Does the station bar rotate when switching from AM to FM? Do the presets function? Have you tested it with a speaker? And would you happen to have the missing screw from beneath the volume knob?
Thanks |

Re: Factory am-fm truck radio
Cool. Do the AM/FM radios use the same mounting brackets as the AM units? I currently have AM. Would this swap right in (once I fix the dial string)? Also, is Paypal okay?

Re: Factory am-fm truck radio
i dont know if they are the same, my truck has am also, but im going aftermarket. i believe other than mounting it to the dash, it looks to be same brackets off the speaker. i just retested it and fm plays but i get nothing on am, and im doing this off a battery. i will include the new am-fm inserts, fm was faded. if this is all good for you i will pm my info...paul

Re: Factory am-fm truck radio
What is actually involved in replacing the string? Is this a difficult repair or can someone with mechaical skill do this? Thanks!

Re: Factory am-fm truck radio
I don't know exactly what gmc2500 means when he said it won't go all the way to the left, there is no string for making it go left or right. The string if it is broken is for the roll drum to change from AM to FM. I have replaced a few and once you do it, it is not that difficult.

Re: Factory am-fm truck radio
If I was in the market I would hit the "Buy It Now" button. Very good price. When I bought my radio I sent it away and had it refurbished. These truck radios are getting harder to find. Just my .01 cents worth.

Re: Factory am-fm truck radio
Where does the antennae plug in? I got anxious and already have my radio in the dash but forgot to look before i did so! Is it right above the power and speaker connector?
