Booster/ master options
So ran into a problem, using the holley accesory brackets and it puts the alternator up high and it now hits the master. My thoughts where either a hydro boost or manual brakes. I only have 15 inches from the firewall till the back of the alternator. Any ideas? Really do not want manual brakes!

They make brackets to mount your brake system behind the firewall or on the frame rail. I've always hated the idea of manual brakes myself. Non abs and manual brakes sounds pretty dangerous if you ever really have to stop.
Is your booster mounted directly to the firewall? You could possibly shift the booster sideways on the firewall also. A lot of s10 guys do it for some added clearance. Posted via Mobile Device |

What size booster is that? It seems to have a small diameter, but is massive from front to back.
How 'bout some more pics of that front suspension...? Looks pretty sweet from what I can tell.

I thought about the street rod style boosters and brackets that mount on the frame. but I cannot put it under the floor not enough room.
I got the booster and master from a board member " pickmup" if I remember correctly. The booster is around 9 inch diameter but just really long plus the firewall bracket adds a couple inches to. FWIW, I'm using a hydro-boost setup with a CPP master cylinder I got from Jim at www.hydratechbraking.com - he was awesome to deal with and really knows his stuff if you decide to go that route. Seems like with the right bracket, you'll be able to make your setup fit.

Why is everyone so afraid of manual brakes? You guys must all drive cadillacs or something. I have had manual 4 wheel disc brakes for years, not because of clearance issues but they are more fun.
