Changing my trans filter and fluid...need help
Decided to try and change out my trans fluid and filter this weekend but i'm kinda stuck. The oil pan is stuck...the back of the oil pan is hitting on the valve body so I cant get it out. Also I bought a trans filter kit from napa and the filter is different from the one in my trans...the one in my trans is square and the other one is actually the shape of the oil pan. so how do I get my trans oil pan off? also would that filter would in my transmission? its a th350
new filter looks like the one in the pic... |

Is it trapped between the valve body and something else, like the exhaust pipe or trans crossmember? I do seem to recall that with some of our TH350 equipped trucks we had to remove the trans crossmember to get the pan off. K

Re: Changing my trans filter and fluid...need help
yeah it was stuck on the crossmember...got it solved though...my uncle helped me undo the middle bolts on the cross member and we jacked up the back of the tranny and the pan came right off...now I think I gotta go back to the parts store and get another filter.

A bigger filter isn't a bad thing as long as it fits. Also a small neodymium magnet to drop in the pan is a good idea.
