Vin number

I bought a 78 k30 crew cab for parts with no title is there anywhere on the truck that has the vin other then the dash

If it is a 78 it should have the VIN tag on the driver side door frame, and there should be a partial VIN on the Frame usually the passenger side frame rail. I'm not sure of the exact placement on a 78, but my 82 has it stamped right behind the cab on the top of the c.

if it does have a VIN tag on the dash it is 79 or newer.

Just bought a 78 single cab without a title myself. The vin tag was on the driver side door frame as stated above, there isn't one on the dash.. I've yet to check the frame yet.

On the frame, top horizontal flange of the passenger side rail, in the vicinity of the forwardmost box bolt.

i use an 89 pad with the vin hole, confuses some
some think it's a hack job of parts
