Cool-Guy 20x10 tire size

What's the Cool-Guy tire size for a 20x10 wheel on a truck with a 4/6-5/7 static drop?

Gonna pull the trigger on a set of 20s and I need to order tires.

Re: Cool-Guy 20x10 tire size

I'm running 275/45/20 on my rear. I'll probably go to a 40 series next and might try a 285 or 295.

I put 295/40's on mine too. Now I just have to get them on the truck.

Zoiks! $300+/tire!

Guess I'm too poor to be cool. Looks like it's 8.5s all the way around.

Re: Cool-Guy 20x10 tire size

Look at tire rack and such. I think I am in mine (Toyo's, IIRC) for under $200 each. I bought them through work (Chevy dealership), though.

Re: Cool-Guy 20x10 tire size

The 275s sit nicely in the wheel well and don't bulge. You don't need to spend a fortune on tires to have something decent. Check out Nexen tires, not a bad tire nor is it that expensive. You don't need a tire that can hold 1g on a skid pad for these trucks. There is no need to spend a bunch of money on a set of (insert top of the line brand here) tires when you can get the same size in another brand that is more affordable. I'm not rich, but I'm rolling on the wheels I've always wanted (legit American Racing Torque Thrust II's. 20x8 and 20x10.) Spend your hard earned money on something you want, not something you settled for and I guarantee you will be much more happier with your purchase. I've spent big money on tires before, super soft and sticky for my Subaru... you know what I realized??? I don't need a track tire for the street... I need a decent street tire. I drive on the street and good even wear is important. The Nexens on my car are quiet for what they are too. The tires on my truck aren't Nexen, but when the time comes they will be.

Yeah, looked up the Toyo's on eBay. Guess I can afford to be a cool guy after all.

Re: Cool-Guy 20x10 tire size

Since you have to smog, I believe its 86 or newer. You can use an older block, but you need the smog equipment from at least an 86, including the exhaust/cat. Whats wrong with the v6?
