First start today fired up after 3 or 4 turns of the key , now I have to get a drivers side battery tray and fab a bracket for the ecu and relays , easy stuff

2 issues at start up , one major header leak , had to tightn the bolts , and the mechanical fan does not seem to want to turn , anyone know if these fans are temp controled , its white plastic bladesb , with some kind of clutch , from a 08 silverado

Sure looks like light blue to me, which is the same color as my '69. I believe they only did this color through '69

Re: New heartbeat 68

By fan not turning do you mean that it's free wheeling spinning but not the same speed as the motor? If so its because the bi metallic spring on the front of the fan clutch has not sensed enough heat to lock up the fan. Usually on cold start ups the fan will lock for a slight moment you should hear a semi loud roar then free wheel. Have you had it up to normal operating temp?

Looks like she is sitting in there at a pretty extreme angle! lol

I think you are going to have to build a cradle with tires to support the rear of the trans.

Re: New heartbeat 68

Middle picture shows how I cut and welded the #1 header tube to work with the cpp mounts ,
Now I just need to fab a drivers side battery tray and bracket for my ecu and relays , seems to run strong , will know for sure with road test coming shortly , the front end is still on the lift , it sits a couple inches lower , got a 3/5 cpp drop kit , will post a pic at ride height with hood on , after I paint the underside and and hindges and install , this board and its members have been of GREAT HELP to me , as a matter of fact without 67c10rustbuckets help , I would still be messing with my steering , thanks guys , switched from ram assist to a power unit from a 79
