Rally wheel trim rings... 2" or 3"?

Silly question but how does one determine if the steel rims they have require 2" or 3" wheel trim rings? Are there defined points of measurement to be able to tell. I see that they are sold in sets for 15x7 and 15x8. Whats the difference?

Thanks

Re: Rally wheel trim rings... 2" or 3"?

I would say the 3" deep are for 8" wide and the 2" deep are for 7" wide. The 2" could be used on either onebut might look funny. Not sure if the 7" wide wheel is deep enough toaccept the 3" ring.
