Sad Little C10 All Alone

As part of my job as a real estate broker, I get to cruise around the California Delta looking at properties up for sale. Came across something on our local multiple listing service with a pic of what appears to be a 67 C10 sitting in an old shop rusting away on a parcel that is up for sale. It looked to be paired up with a late 50's Ford truck. So I made the drive into the Delta, to check it out. As I pull up to the property, I see that a neighbor had already pulled the Ford out and had it sitting in their yard.

As I walk onto the property, I see the Chevrolet tailgate just visible inside the falling doors of the shop. Went on in and checked it out. It's a basic C10 long fleetside with a straight 6. Looked like someone took a Sawzall to the steering column to prevent anyone from just rolling it out of there. The sheetmetal actually looked solid, but the passengers side door is pretty banged up.

There was also a mid-60's International 1300 Flatbed Dually sitting in another shed, but I couldn't get a picture. As I was leaving, 5 neighbor dudes came strolling up looking like they were wanting to chase me off. I was already in the car, rolling out.

The truck would be a good little project or a donor, but I just don't the space for it.

Tires were flat on the ground. Last sticker on the plate was 1982. I don't think its been out of that shop since then.

You gotta have a lot of courage to go poking around private property in the delta. There are husbands and wives out there who were related to each other before they got married...

And that's why I'm not afraid to ask my good friends Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson along for the ride sometimes.

Nice find.

I don't know anything about the California Delta, but here in NC if you go into someones shed and open the glove box of the truck inside, you get arrested.

The property is listed for sale as a probate and is vacant. If no one comes claims the personal property of the deceased or otherwise disposed of by the court, it's included in the sale. Been on the market a long time. If the family wanted it, it would already be gone.

Wow, even vehicles?

That could make buying run down places a lot more intresting.

Hey - I know those dudes, too! They always come along with me whenever I'm off to meet some craigslist freak in the McDonalds parking lot at midnight.

Seriously though, them are some freaky people living out there. I guess you already know that.

Re: Sad Little C10 All Alone

Is "deluxe air heater" another name for A/C?
And I've never seen "closed eng pos vent" on a SPID before...is that like a crankcase vent delete??
