14 Bolt 8 lug swap into 82 C10

I've found a 14 bolt rear axle, and all the front 8 lug running gear but haven't purchased it yet because I'm not to sure on what I need to check on the new axle to make sure that it'll be as easy of a swap as possible, will the springs line up or do I need to move the perches? do the shocks line up or again do i need to move them, the guy that im getting the axle from did the reverse on his truck and said he had to move the perches on his axle out 2in, but he had a 2+2 long bed 79 model, I've read that there are 3 different widths but the perches are all the same spacing on each of the axles. Can someone tell me what the differences between my 10 bolt and a 14 bolt are as far as spacing of perches and shock mounts, the only reason I'm doing the swap is because I want to have an rcsb c10 with 8 bolt and eventually a daully setup with fenders and all, and I searched a swap but none of the ones I saw were on a 2wd, which apparently affects the width, the guy that has the axle says the one he has didnt stick out any further than the 10 bolt he put in

when my half ton gets here I'll measure them for you but I imagine the right answer will come sooner.

Sounds like his truck is possibly a 1 ton. 1 tons have different width spring perches than the 3/4 ton and 1/2 ton. You can directly swap axles between 3/4ton and 1/2 ton trucks, springs perches line up the same.

Yep, Malibu is right about that. 1 ton is different.

SWEET! his truck was a dually with a flat bed, and he had to move the perches on the 10 bolt, maybe just maybe this other axle will line up because its a single wheel, might mean its a 3/4 and not a 1 ton.
