Have any pics and codes of a "root beer" painted truck? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am shooting for the color that is shown on the attached 79 C10. I am not sure if it is a factory color so I am looking for anyone that has a picture and a code of something close to what is shown. The center color is not important as I can figure that out.

Found him on the site last week, and he does not know. He told me it was painted when he bought it. Thanks for the quick reply!

I had an '80 Jimmy that was a very similar color. Don't know the name of it, but that was the model year. If you are looking for a nice root beer brown, we just bought a 2013 Buick Enclave. The brown on it is awesome, and I really don't care for brown. It may be darker than what you want, but the color would look great with the gold mist.

Yea, that is a bit darker than I am trying for. I was at the painter's shop yesterday and am going to pick up a spray out of a color I am hoping will work. Thanks for your help. I wish there were more "root beer" already painted vehicles out there that codes were known for. It sure would make the choice that much easier.

This is not really how dark I was shooting for, but it looks amazing, especially when the sun hits it and the metal sparkles. Thanks all for your help trying to find the perfect color. You helped me succeed!

It was a custom mix. I think PPG called it Iron Ore and then I had them lighten it what I said was 20%. I have the formula so I can repeat if necessary. The center is late model Chrysler cool vanilla as they call it.

Thanks a lot! I am glad you like it as I am thrilled with it. I am not sure how to link you to it, but I just posted an update last night to it under the 73-91 Blazer heading. What I have so far is titled "Introduction and 2wd Blazer in progress", or something like that...
