Question door help??????

went to open pass.side door on 72 and noticed the button was hard to push but it opened and now the door wont close it just come back open.the handle looks fine and the buton looks normal
would this be the handle or the door latch how hard is it to replace the latch assem..thanks henry

Henry remove the door panel and check the door handel then if you dont find a problem there then check the latch,it should be one of the two.

< now the door wont close> wait!!!!!!!! try THIS first,,,,,when you close the door does it sound like your hitting solid metal,,,,,maybe the star-cam in the door went out of alignment,,rotate it clockwise with your finger till it "clicks" 1 time....then try the door,,,,,,,if this dont work try "BIG ORANGE"S idea

the star cam rotates freely doesn't catch or click. How hard is it to change the door latch assembly?? thanks Henry

not hard, take the door panel off so you can get inside. theres 3 large philip screws around the latch on the outside, un screw them and the latch will come out from the inside, theres two rods on the latch that have to come off one for the inside door handle and one for the door lock, theres a little snap clip on theses rods you'll see how they come off when you look at it
