Re: anyone running 275/55r20 ?

Those will be HUGE on the back.
(32" tall)
I would run a 295/40-20 and a 255/45-18.

This is one of the many threads on the subject.
Search Google or here on the board,...
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=528546

I would never buy tires blindly.
Find a truck you like with the size tires you like.

I personally like 20's up front also,... so I have no saved 18/20 pics.

Re: anyone running 275/55r20 ?

31/32 isn't too tall for this body style. I went with 265/35 22s that are about 30" and I have some wheelwell left. I'm out and about right now but I can post up a pic so you get an idea of how the 30" vs wheelwell looks. But someone here has got to be running the 275/55 20

Re: anyone running 275/55r20 ?

Sorry, ended up going to watch World War Z last night. Here are a couple pix for reference. You can see I have a lot of wheel gap still with a 265/35-22.

The 275/55 20 (on paper) measures 31.91", the 265/35 22 (on paper) measures 29.3. So you can add about 1" to each side, but as you can tell by the can of NOS sitting on the tire, there's WAY more than an inch available. (and yes, the NOS is my breakfast. )

I hope this helps with reference, I'm surprised no one has chimed in yet with some 275/55 20s yet, I know it's a popular size for our trucks. What I can't understand is why my truck looks cream.

Re: anyone running 275/55r20 ?

31" is way too big. Why not just run the proper size tire? I don't understand why people want to run huge tires on a stock height or lowered truck. Something like a 275/40r20 or 275/45r20 is more of what u need in the back.

Re: anyone running 275/55r20 ?

It's dropped around 3" but still needs to come down another 2.
My wheelwells were moved in 1" by the previous owner because the tires were rubbing on the inside but I have the narrower rear axle, I don't think it would be a problem with the right offset wheel

Re: anyone running 275/55r20 ?

thanks to dirtyjim, i'm running them now.

18x8 front with 235/55r18

20x10 rear with 275/55r20

they are exactly what i wanted. they have side wall and it still looks lowered. may or may not go down another inch or two in the rear. pretty happy with everything now. no tire rub.

This is why it is hard to recommend tires sizes, wheel sizes, and wheel backspacing.
Everyone has a different opinion on how their truck should look.

I wish I had gone with "55's" in the rear and at least 45's up front. These are 245/40/20 in front and 275/45/20's out back. (4.5/6 drop)

50mercfan, that wheel-tire combo & the slight rake looks very good.
i'm running 275/45r20's on the front and the ride is very good.

i've gone through a lot of work to get this truck low and still ride good. your right, is important. thanks for all your help. if anyone needs wheels, get ahold of ksbrtracer. he knows what works and what dosn't. no guessing around. let alone the great price and quick service.

I personally like the taller sidewall instead of the rubberbands...
