Re: can someone please explain to me this?

From what I understand, they discontinued the small window mid-year and stuck with the big window from then on. My C20 is a small window.

The wide window was an option in 67. If you think back to the 60-66, most of them were small window also but some had the optional big window

Re: can someone please explain to me this?

RPO A10 was optional throughout the 67 MY.
Known as "Window, Full-View Rear" or "Panoramic Cab Equipment" it was offered on pickups and chassis cabs. There were no ordering restrictions I know of and you can very well see a CST without it or a stripper with it. At $43 it was not a cheap option but it does brighten the cab.

Rear windows have been optional on GM trucks since 1948 when you could get a 5 window cab.

Re: can someone please explain to me this?

Federal Regs for 1968 supposedly required a larger rear window so Chevy decided to go with the large window as standard.

Re: can someone please explain to me this?

I've been around this truck since my Granddad got it new and never knew they had 2 sizes of windows until last year. Anyone know how many of each were made? I also just learned that the '67 is the only one of the '67-'72 series that doesn't have side marker lights. Something about a new law and trucks already built, I think.

Re: can someone please explain to me this?

Yup... in 1968, the same fed laws that mandated the bigger rear window also mandated side marker lamps.

I had a 1967 C10 with a small back window, but had a step side bed off of a 1968. So the front fenders had no lamps, but the step side fenders on the bed did. Not many people could figure out what was "wrong" with the truck when they looked at it.
