2 tone paint line Help !

Hey guys, I have a 72 2 tone truck in the body shop for paint, and need picures that show were the white and body colors begin & end around the door openings and on the doors also. Like on the window frame of the doors, did any white show inside the truck or was it all body color ? I'm looking to get as close to factory as possible

Pictures would be great !

Gary - see my build linked in my signature below for examples. Note the upper paint line on the bed does not parallel the top of the bed (i.e. not flat line) but gently slopes downward as it progresses toward the tailgate: outer frame around windows is white. Hope that helps and good luck. Pete

I see the on your doors the window frame is painted white inside & out, but I have also seen the inner part of the door window frame paint the body color so no white is seen from the inside of the truck.

Is your painted as from the factory ? Did this depend on the assembly plant, some painted one way and other differently ?

This one kinda shows it.. It was factory this way. The red and white truck beside it had white all the way around factory..

So it looks like your inner window frames are painted blue so no white would be seen from inside the truck ! This is how I was thinking it should be, but like Deadheads I've seen that part white.

Is your painted as it was from the factory ?

Yes the blue truck is factory the white just rolls around to the edge of the seam.. The red and white truck has full white frames so they do vary..

Gary - I was wrong. The WHOLE window frame came white from GM as in my build. I just confirmed that with the original paint driver door from my K20 that is in my back yard. If you want it to be OEM the whole frame is white. Most often, it's this frame and the bed paint line that I see done not quite to OEM. Pete

So it seams that they came both ways, maybe depending on what plant they were assembled at ! If this is the case I think I'll do it like Sreamins' blue truck with no white showing inside the interior of the truck.

I have another pair of doors that are original that I'll look at when I get home to see how they were done.

Huh- maybe there were plant and/or paint color specific differences. Here's a shot of a 71 door supposedly original paint with blue on the inner door....

Yah that's what I was finding, but I'm leaning towards the way the blue one was done !
