Help pricing this Frankenstein
I found this "83" today thats actually older and newer. Its an 83 cab on top of a pre 80 frame I think, it's got a NP205 and a 350 from a 70s Chevy II and a 90s front clip. Its in ok shape body wise and mechanical wise, might be a bit of a headache to make nice though. Hes asking 3500, what should I offer?
Ill try to post better pics a bit later ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Help pricing this Frankenstein
From the outside I would say $2000 but it looks like a lot was done with the engine, exhaust, tranny and driveline. Might be worth $3000-$3500. What does the interior look like?

Re: Help pricing this Frankenstein
That is a frankenstein lol. One way i know if the frame is pre 80's is if the front horns are round instead of pointed. All the purple looks cool though. Looks clean underneath?

Over all it's pretty clean, drives good, run straight no surprises yet. Only thing I'm having issues with is the TC, it won't shift into 4hi. And yes, that's some type of sound deadner under the carpet. From what I understand the guy's landlord was getting on him about restoring it in the yard (he lived in a trailer park) so that's why he was selling it. |

Re: Help pricing this Frankenstein
70's have round frame horns 80's have pointed. Seeing the 90's front end, but 80's bed i think you'd be alright. This is a 70's frame

Re: Help pricing this Frankenstein
2800 is a deal in my opinion, especially with them tires and lift on it, plus that motor looks great! Underside looks clean enough to eat off of compared to my truck. Just get that T-Case working, and paint it and you got yourself a nice driver truck

Re: Help pricing this Frankenstein
Possibly. A friend has an uncle (doesn't everyone lol) who supposed to be just an amazing body man and painter and charges peanuts, but I mostly wanna use this to haul and play so looking showroom fresh isn't a big concern. I won't be able to do S2000 buckets again, but I plan to recreate what I did as closely as possible.
BTW, if you ever see my truck try to snap a pic, it's floating around in your area. |

Re: Help pricing this Frankenstein
So my frame is definitely an 84'+, it's got the parking brake cable holders on the outside of the driver side frame rail. Unraveling more of the mystery as I go.
