It's Hot Here TGF A/C!

Right now it's 108F here in the desert and is expected to get to 113F later.
The A/C in the house is really expensive to operate so me and the wife went for a nice long ride in the C10. The factory A/c works amazingly well in this heat. I'm really impressed with a system that is over 40 years old and still cools as well as a newer vehicle. I have a classic Mustang that has a Classic Air unit installed in it but it just doesn't work as well in this kind of heat. It's also fun to see other classics on the road with all the windows down.

And you are back already? Time to go back out maybe up to Wrightwood the back way up through Valyermo and enjoy the cooler air too.

Don't feel alone, it's already 100* here and we're not in the desert. The news said that Truckee is going to be in the 90s today. So even Nor Cal is hot!!

Hey Tim,
Actually I get to go out by myself in about an hour to really give her a shake down. 109 right now.

It's probably the same concept as to why the heaters work so well on these trucks. You're only heating or cooling the cab, instead of also heating/cooling the back seat.

You might consider ceramic tinted windows and a window shade. Makes a world of difference. I've got a black interior and no AC, so it is a must. You can see from this pic how shaded the interior gets with the window shade installed, and I didn't even go with very dark tint
