My tach works!
Recently bought a 6 cylinder tach cluster from mahanian - hooked it up outside the truck (with a 5 amp fuse inserted in the hot wire just to be safe). At first it would only go up to about 1500 rpm...brought it inside, carefully took it apart to see if everything looked okay and then carefully put it back together - tried it again and it works fine! WOOHOO!!!! (Assuming that 800 rpm is normal idle). Now I have to find a "fawn" colored instrumet bezel to match my truck - one sold on ebay back in April before I bought the truck for something like $23!!!!
