My engine is high
Here you all go, I bought this 67 C10 back in 2010. It was originally a 292 4 speed manual converted to V8 SBC / TH350 back a while ago. It also picked up disc brakes, power steering, and 5 lug rear axle from a 1971 C10 (best I can tell). I was looking to replace the fan shroud due to the one in the truck has been modified (hacked). In looking at the fan placement in the shroud I see that the engine seems higher in the chassis than it should be, approximately 2 inches. So began to look to the engine mounts and what do I find....it has the mounts used on the 1973 up trucks (clamshells isolators on the frame brackets). So I assumed that the engine to frame brackets had been used from a later truck....ahhhh no. The frames in the 1973 up truck are much taller than the 67-72 truck, meaning that the frame brackets from the later truck will not bolt in without major mods. Does anyone have any idea where this mounting stuff came from, check out the pictures. BTW I have a 1974 C10 and can tell for certain that the engine mount brackets will not work in an earlier model without cutting and welding.
Why the hell did the people not just use the stuff off the original truck or the donor 1971 that gave its suspension up......rat bastards.

Re: My engine is high
When we put the '74 454 in a '69 frame we used all the motor mounting stuff from the '74 and it worked great allowing room for the headers and the clutch "Z" bar.
I am not sure what you have.
