1969 c10 swb
I have been working on a truck i got ahold of last year. been slow for me, but i have redone all the drum brakes , having never done any mechanic work before, replaced the gas tank and am waiting on a new fuel sending unit. pics will be posted as soon as i feel i make progress, but this is such a rewarding feeling, doing things yourself, that i had to share! have a great day folks!

Re: 1969 c10 swb
If it is a '68 and not a '69, that one might be a 50th anniversary. Would be nice to see other pictures including the SPID inside the glovebox door!
More pictures please!

68 has a very different front end from a 69. Nevermind, you posted while I was typing. Definitely a 68 front end. Somebody could have swapped on a 68 front clip.

Looks like a 50th anniversary truck. Can you post a pic of the sticker(SPID) inside the glovebox door?

Re: 1969 c10 swb
It has the 68 front end and it also has the 67-68 side trim. If it has a spid on the glovebox door post a pic and the vin will tell all

Slant nosed hood Front clip Side moulding Side emblem That's a hell of a lot of work to transform a '69 into a '68, and not really that much pay off- seeing as a '69 is no slouch itself. A few more things to check and get back to us : Does your tailgate have the lower moulding strip or holes for the lower moulding? If not, it's a 67/68 tailgate Is the steering wheel a 3 spoke? If so, it's a 67/68 steering wheel What does the glovebox emblem look like? It's hard to describe, but there's a difference Tell us about the rear view mirror. If the mounting arm looks rudimentary, it's a 67/68 mirror. Last but not least, post a picture of the sticker inside the glovebox door. That'll settle it Posted via Mobile Device Last edited by Mister-B; 07-02-2013 at 11:15 AM. |

Re: 1969 c10 swb
More pictures will tell the story for sure.
My vote is it is a true '68. Nice looking truck by the way.

Re: 1969 c10 swb
Sometimes trucks were titled in the year they were sold vs the manufacture's model year. That looks to very much be a 68. The Title and VIN should start CE148....... for a 68 V8 truck.
It probably isn't a 50th truck though. Like as posted before a SPID picture would help a lot or use the decoders in my signature to work things out.

I'd be happy it's a 68. I like the front ends much better on a 2wd shorty

Re: 1969 c10 swb
Try breaking it into two halves that works a lot better. An angle shot can help fill in gaps too. Here is what I've pulled or deduced so far.
