Man that sucks Derek, I'm real sorry to hear this!!! Depending on your policy I think that ICBC will probably cover most of your contents for theft (no matter if the stereo was under the seat or in the dash). I can burn some C.D.'s for you later on after I get settled in my new place, I've got some good rock music. And in light of this bad news you can have that gauge bezel we spoke about (no charge), just stop by and pick it up. This will be my last post on the board for some time as my internet will be disconnected today, later Doug

you should have called the police as soon as you found the break in , try putting in a claim with both car and homeowner insurance. chances are it's someone that know's you that did this, bottom line it doesn't pay to advertise what you've got and if they're going to steal it don't make it easy for them!!!!

hey guys, just talked to icbc and its a 300 $ deductible, so im not going to bother going through icbc, i know they probably wont cover it anyways because it wasnt mounted, so im gunna wait till my truck is done and get one then

Doug---thanks for the offer on the cds! i have a burner also and plan on making a bunch but again im waiting till i get a deck in the truck so there is no rush for that, and the bezel sounds awesome but ill give ya some money for it, send me a pm if you get a minute, thanks,

Derek

Your homeowners/renters insurance may cover the stolen CD's, etc.

I had the same thing happen in a Jeep Wrangler, and you think you could get the police to come take a look? It'd be nice if they 'protect and serve' the guy who had his stuff ripped off, or his ride valdalized. Here's a classic; I had a 1993 Saab 900 Turbo Convt. last summer, and some punks came by and made swiss cheese of the top, then keyed about every inch of it. I walked outside, saw it, called the police station, and know what I got? An ANSWERING MACHINE!

Many police depts are funded greatly by traffic violations, hence why they say....

"You can rob a bank, you just can't speed away."

Oh....and doesn't it suck that by the time you're finished paying a deductable, running around town to get replacement prices, etc on your stuff, you get a check in the mail for $38.59 to cover your $500 purchase, then your insurance rates go up because you are now a 'risk'?

Might as well bend over and take it up the tailpipe when stuff get stolen unless it's something big like your actual truck. Even then I bet they'd find someway to bend you over.

At least report it to he RCMP. Even if they don't check it out, they will still have you on file. There is always some possibility that the guys will be caught and the stuff recovered.

Thats what happened here. Some guys from out of town hit about 7 cars. They ended up catching one and the rest followed.....found most of the stuff too.
