Is it worth trading for?

I have the opportunity to get a 1976 GMC C15. It has a 250 inline six, 3 on the tree, 60,000 miles, very little rust, runs like a top. I would be trading my '70 C20. The '76 would get way better fuel mileage, and it would haul the same amount of stuff i put in my '70.
I've never owned (let alone driven) a 3 ott, but as soon as i saw the ad, i was interested.

Re: Is it worth trading for?

I drive a 72 with the same set up. The 3 on the tree is awesome to drive, the i6 is a beast on power, fast is a no but it will pull down a house if need be. The shifter does hang up, and needs adjusting about every 6 months but its all easy once you learn the tricks to it. I'd say go for it

Not really sure the 6 will get way better mileage. The rear gears are probably lower for the 6. Great engine though.

Lower than 4:10 gears? That's what I've got in my '70. It screams down the road.

Re: Is it worth trading for?

Unfortunately, the deal with the C15 fell through. So, I guess I'll be keeping my '70 C20. I still really like my truck.
