Question Exhaust outlet (tailpipe) locations?

Does anyone run their exhaust outlets straight out under the rear bumper? I kind of like that location but I'm worried that when running without a top the exhaust could get "sucked" back over the tailgate in to the passenger area.

I think you are right. Down and out at the corners might be wiser.

That's what I did also for the same exact reason. The last thing anyone wants is to be smothered in exhaust fumes.

Re: Exhaust outlet (tailpipe) locations?

I have a Corvette with side exhaust. The fumes are awful when sitting. Of course it comes out in front of the rear wheels, right under the back of the front door. But it sounds awesome!

Re: Exhaust outlet (tailpipe) locations?

I had the exhaust pipes straight out of the back under the bumper on my first 72' k/5 and even with the top on it sucked fumes inside. I put the exhaust out of side behind the rear tires on the k/5 i have know and i haven't had a problem with fumes.
