Re: new 72 truck doorw

What's the actual difference between the 67-71 & the '72 doors?

Re: new 72 truck doorw

Door panels and there's a small indentation on the inner door by the wing window. The handle on the wing window drops down to the little dent on a the 72s.

Re: new 72 truck doorw

I think the window cranks and stuff are different for 72 than your 70-71 style.. someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct, but technically, it is not the window cranks, that refers to the handles themselves. It is the the window relays inside of the doors that are different. Also, the door handle relays are different. The necks on the window and door relays stick out a tad farther on the 72 than on 68-71. However, unless you are using 72 door panels, window relays, and door relays, they will work perfectly. The 72 door panel is thicker. That is why there is a difference. In terms of the door itself, the only difference is the 68-71 doors lack the vent wing retaining hole for the long retaining screw. You would nee one to fill the hole, but could run them without. And I believe 67 doors have some slight differences from the 68-71, the exterior door handle mounting being one.

Re: new 72 truck doorw

68-72 use the same vent windows and handles. 67 are one year specific.

72 doors are the only different actual door frames...they have a hole under the vent window where a screw goes through to add extra strength at the vent window. No other difference other than 67 which has a slightly different pitch to the outer door handles so for the best possible fit you need to use 67 doors and handles...

Re: new 72 truck doorw

Lol....looks like we posted at the same time...and yes, if you're using 72 inner door panels you will need 72 specific door and window regulators as they stick out of the door further to compensate for the thicker door panels (not the door itself)

Finally went over to GA and met Kevin (HeeHawRacing) and picked up these doors. Great guy, great parts and no hassles. Thanks Kevin!
