Patina done... Drop done....
I finally got around to finishing up the patina and lowering kit on my 69 SWB. I followed the Trucks episode method. The only veriation was I did not brush anything on. First coat of flat black then red oxide and final coat of satin white.
I installed the DJM 5/5 kit for rear coils and am pleased with the results. My springs were original so they had sagged some. My starting point was 32" front and 34" rear. As it sits now I have 27 3/4 front and 29 3/4 rear. It sits square on all four sides. No "Chevy lean" here. My wife is painting on the door logos this week. Cannot wait for those. Here is what I started with: Here she is now: |

Re: Patina done... Drop done....
It is REALLY easy to do if you take your time. The best part is if you go overboard you just shake a rattle can and start over.
I am going to patina the bumpers as well. |

Re: Patina done... Drop done....
Where are you all getting these white wall tires at. I love them but only place I can find them is at Coker Tires at $250+\- each don't know if there is a cheaper manufacture out there. Thanks guys

Re: Patina done... Drop done....
A few more teaser pictures. I should have full shots outside once I am done with the final stages on the fauxtina. Right now I am going over the whole truck with 1000 grit wet paper. It actually has a sheen to it in the spots it needs to.
I talked my wife into doing the door logos by hand. Mr. G's is my meat company. She has never taken part in ANY vehicle I have owned so this was special. |

Re: Patina done... Drop done....
If you take a real patina truck and paint it fake patina, do you call it restored patina?
Whatever you call it, you did a very good job on the patina paint job! |
