Another Carb question
So I think my Edelbrock is goofy. I am not a carburetor guy so I need some help. The flap toward the front of the carb on my 69 350 is loose and does not open or close with the gas pedal linkage. It just kind of hangs open. This is an Edelbrock 600 manual choke.
I can take pictures of what I am talking about if that will help. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Another Carb question
Likely your looking at the choke blades. should do as described if warm out.

Re: Another Carb question
If its a manual choke, is there a cable that hooks to the flap you reference? If not then you may want to 1) get a choke cable or 2) disable the choke by tying the flap in the vertical position so it stays off permanently. Downfall is you have to stay on the pedal until its warm.

Re: Another Carb question
Thats right... Once at operating temperature everything will be the same. Choke closes the flap during warm-up and thats it. Its a convenience item. How is it running otherwise?
