odd transmission mount question

I'm rebuilding the transmission (TH400) and 402 BB in a 1972 c10 for a friend of mine. Got the engine and transmission back in this evening but have a question about the transmission mount. The original mount is virtually non existence. There was so much muck on it and no rubber left to see how anything went, plus I took it out over a month ago. But, I have two longer bolts and two steel plate 3/8 spacers of some sorts that have the hole oblong and they match with the width of the upper mounting hoes and transmission holes. I have no idea if these were just part of the original mount if they should be installed between my new mount and the transmission. Any body seen this? Thanks!

Re: odd transmission mount question

From top to bottom....

Transmission, spacers, trans mount, crossmember.

The mount and spacers are held to the transmission by two bolts that thread upwards into the trans. Then, there are two more bolts that thread upward through the crossmember and into the mount.

Re: odd transmission mount question

thanks tx firefighter. So, these are factory pieces? Seems like the transmission sits up kind of high with both of them. What is their function? Thanks again.

Re: odd transmission mount question

I believe the big block Turbo 400 trucks did use spacer plates between the mount and trans. I've had a couple of trucks with them so I assumed they were factory. It would have been too big of a coincidence for two unrelated trucks that I owned to be so equipped and not factory.
