My 900.00 c20..

Well I found this the otherday and she was lonely and needed some serious help, but I knew she was a good truck and deserved more than what she had so I bought her, the front fenders say Custom camper , but I think the front clip is off something else, so I don't know, glove box is missing, and the door tag as 6700 gvw, so I'm not sure if its really a CC or not, but its damn sure 3/4 ton and thats all that matters to me.
has a 350 looks like a remaned crate engine from a machine shop, cause it has 4 different tattle tale lead plugs in various locations on the engine and the block has been decked cause the numbers are missing from the front pad , and you can see machine marks.

Re: My 900.00 c20..

Picked the ol girl up the other day after selling my 2wd ford. She sounded pretty sick when he started her up, i could tell she had a miss, or two, once I got her home and gave her a proper exam, turned out the rockers on the passenger side where way too tight, only had 10psi of compression in the 2,4 cyls, once I loosened em up , the compression came right up to above 150 .. removed the cap and the crappy ass super coil had burned a hole in the top of th cap, so new distributor, new wires, plugs and I swapped the q jet out for a holley 4160 and tossed the adapter and now its purring like a kitten, also swapped out that bastard header they never got around to installing. ,too bad the other one they did install is having issues with the coating, I'll more than likely go back to stock manifolds.

took the pressure washer and some super clean to her ass and washed off all the mildew and mold.. and pushed out the majority of the crease in the lower drivers side bed.

drip rails need stripped and re seam sealed.

Mainly been working of straightening out the hodge poge of **** they had wrong withthe engine..

Changed out the stock alt for a 12si nice having a steady 14.5 volts VS the 12015.5 from the old one.
little vid from when I went to look at it, I'll make a new one of it running now tomorrow.

Re: My 900.00 c20..

Looks like it has rusted in most of the typical places.
The issue with the engine sounds like the typical previous owner B.S. luckily no damage was caused which is great for you because you get to drive it while you fix it up.
I did some research on model designation and unless this is a GMC it's not a Custom Camper although Chevrolet made a similar version called the Longhorn.

Looks like a really good truck, should be able to do whatever you want with it.

Re: My 900.00 c20..

Chevy did make the Custom camper, the longhorn was just a longer bed..
you can see the added bedspace behind the cab.

I was just saying I didn't know for sure if Mine was really a custom camper due to the fact I have no rpo label cause I don't have the original glove box door. custom campers didn't get the 8.5 ft bed.

There are plenty of Chevy Custom campers..
