4wd axle vs 2wd axle
Are the axle shafts swappable between 4wd and 2wd 10 bolt truck axles?
Thanks Mark Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 4wd axle vs 2wd axle
They are interchangeable as long as they are from the same era.

Re: 4wd axle vs 2wd axle
Thanks, now I can start looking for a 4x4 rear axle with 3:73 or 4:10.

Re: 4wd axle vs 2wd axle
I've used a 2wd axle in a 4wd just swap the axle shafts and drums. The shock mounts are different the 2wd one mount the shock lower. The 4wd shock mounts are about 3 inches higher to compensate for the higher stance of the 4wd.
