1985 Bench Seat Pictures

Guys, sorry for having to ask but I searched the site and can not find any pictures of how the bench seat (1985 C10) bolts back together. I took the seat apart to reupholster it and can't figure out how I goes back together. We took the back off from the bottom of the seat and I need some pics on how the back seat cushion bolts back onto the bottom seat cushion. 3 months being sick and in an out of the hospital I totally forgot how. There is only one bolt through the back bracket and I have that installed but the bolt that stops it from going to far back and forward when you flip the back of the seat forward, I can't remember. Every seat pics I find the hinge covers are in place and I can't see how the bolts go in.

Re: 1985 Bench Seat Pictures

I have taken mine apart a few times and it''s only one bolt per side with some nylon washers in between. Mine is apart right now or I would snap a pic.

That's what I have in my head but I just can't get it to work. 1 bolt through the upper bracket into the bottom and then I have another bolt and a small bracket that I know where it goes but it can't with the first bolt holding the upper on. Pics would be wonderful

Got the covers from LMC and they went on tight but nice. I was pretty easy to do. I had to order new bottom foam as it was in bad shape with large chunk missing. We changed the whole interior from Burgundy to Black.

Re: 1985 Bench Seat Pictures

Guys, we figured it out. There are two bolt holes on the bottom section near the rear of the seat on each side. I cut and used the wrong hole that caused me to be 1/2" too far forward. Plugged that hole and cut the vinyl for the last one and everything is great.

Did you purchase the complete bottom unit/piece, or were you able to section in the seat purchasing the individual pieces/layers ?

Thanks, I am trying to decide which way to go

We purchased the complete bottom unit. We tried to repair the existing one but it just never felt right under my fat @$$.

Re: 1985 Bench Seat Pictures

Thanks that's what I'm thinking.

The fellow I got my truck from tipped the scales at over 400lbs. The outer edge/end of drivers side of bench is beat down. I am thinking new bottom.

Re: 1985 Bench Seat Pictures

I thought my 240 pounds was killer on the seat. I also added a strip of thick vinyl between the foam and the springs/strings for extra support and to help so that they don't dig into the foam like it was.
