NOS 1972 GMC Grill

Did a little horse trading this weekend and came home with a pretty nice 1972 GMC grill shell. Has a few storage blems and some scraping of the black also a couple areas of condensation pits. Chrome shines NICE.....

It appears correct to this one that recently sold on *bay:

GMC Pauls site has one shown as an "exact" reproduction, is the part# stamped on the repo ones too?

There was no box but does have the correct part# stampeded on the bottom lip.

Is this NOS or a reproduction? And then WIW?

Re: NOS 1972 GMC Grill

It's GM with that part#. No reproduction has a GM part# except GM's own reproductions people sell off as N.O.S. But,to the best of my knowledge, only Chevy parts have been reproduced and sold as GM Restoration Parts (or slipped back into regular inventory after original parts have been depleted for a long time). Those later GM parts are the same parts sold by anyone else, except they come in GM boxes with GM part #s.

Value? Hmmm...that's tough. The blemishes depreciate it a lot, even though it's a beautiful piece for the most part. Kinda like a car with a perfect custom paint job with a tiny flaw. The whole car has to be re-done. It's great as is,but just perfect,so not full value. You need to find someone who appreciates what it is and look past it's imperfections,or sell cheap then who cares? Most guys who are willing to fork out big money for N.O.S. do so because it's for a mint vehicle that deserves the best. I'll take a stab and say $700-800. If perfect I'd say over $1,000.In my opinion it's still worth more than reproduction
