Patina'd '68

Picked this truck up a couple of weeks ago. It had been sitting in the same spot behind a barn for 15 years so it's pretty dirty and has some minor rust in the firewall. Wont be any problem to fix when I shave and paint the firewall. I've got it completely blown apart and waiting on my orders from Porterbuilt and Wilwood to get started on the chassis. Plan to do a pretty mild build with an LS motor, Vintage air, shaved and painted completely under the hood, paint and go through the interior, Porterbuilt suspension, Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes, powder coated chassis, Billet Specialties bonneville g's plus a few other small things.

Re: Patina'd '68

did you just say a "MILD" build? Sounds extreme to me just with the PB stuff. I'll stay for the ride. Looking forward to it.

Thanks guys I am excited to get started on the build. I am calling it a mild build because I plan to keep everything mostly original but with a little bit of my style.

I am in Lubbock.

I have changed up a few things on the truck but I think it will still be cool. I am focused on finishing my '86 right now so i am messing with this one a little here and there. Still going to have Porterbuilt suspension, Wilwood brakes, LS, painted underhood and interior just a milder version then I originally wanted to do.

I am waiting a on few missing parts from my Porterbuilt order and I will have the stage 2 suspension finalized. Got the fuel cell slid into place but need to check bed clearances since I would like to raise it a little if possible. I am currently looking for an LS engine and I will start that portion of the build.

When I finish it I will let you know and give you an address to send the check to.

I will take some more pictures as I get some work completed. I am hoping to have the chassis ready for powdercoat in a month or so.

Thanks guys. Current plans are to raise the floor enough to clear the rear end and install new wood/strips that are painted low gloss black. I am going to use a fuel filler from www.crafty-b.com

Appreciate it.

Here's the rear wilwoods. I wanted to do a disc conversion but still be able to run a 15" wheel. This is the 11" rotor that has a built in parking brake. I am using D52 front calipers with brake performance dimpled and slotted rotors for the front.

Very similar build to mine but looks like you have a nicer starting point and further head start. Dig the spotlight!
