55-59 rear shock mount pegs/dowels........who sells them?
Hey folks! I am looking for the rear shock absorber mounts for the upper and lower mounting. I am not talking about the brackets, but the metal pegs/pins that slip through the shock absorber "eyes". Mine are solid and have no internal threads for captivating the shock with a bolt & large washer. My shocks continue to "walk" off the mounting pegs creating a dangerous situation, not to mention my shocks dragging loose on the ground. Does anyone sell these aftermarket for our trucks? Or is this a generic trailer shop item? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I would try NAPA or a local tire/shock/alignment shop. I will get into my old bucket of suspension stuff and see if I kept mine.

Sounds like the threaded ends have snapped off. HELP products sells a universal stud / bushing assembly as part no 31001. That might work for ya.

Here's how some PO took care of that problem on my truck.
I got a set of the correct ones from a forum member. |

Sweet!
SWEET!!!!!! I have already experienced one of my rear shocks vibrating off while driving. I am really motivated to captivate the shocks and drive worry-free. I will PM you, thank you.
