Dog House removal on a 78 SWB

I am starting a tare down on my 78, and are there any tricks to remove the sheet metal in as few pieces as possible.
Do I need to remove the front bumper?

This is how I usually do it,others might be different.Pull the bumper,makes it easier to get at the rad support mounting bolts,pull rad,& hood.I pull the whole front clip as one piece,there are 2 bolts on upper fender at rear.These are visible when door is opened,there are 2 more inside wheel well & one at rear of fender along the bottom inside.Undo all wiring from headlights,clearance lamps & any other assorted wires.It sounds worse than it is,I can usually pull the whole clip in an hour or so by myself.

That is what I wanted to hear.........................one hour, at my age that means one day!!

That's if everything goes good& I don't get distracted.....I get distracted easy!!lol... The worst part is usually pulling the bumper off,rusted bolts can be a pain.That's when the grinder comes out..I have a overhead crane in the shop,so it makes it easy to pull the complete clip this way too...

This is So Arizona, you only have to break the nut loose and remove them with your fingers!!

The challenge is remembering where I put the hardware when it goes back together!

I used to just throw all the hardware in a coffee can,now I am starting to label them.It makes it a lot easier when looking for specific bolts or screws.I have one project that's been going on 8+ years now & still not done,that one is gonna be some head scratching!!

.... What about the hood latch that is inside the cab, do I just un-hook it at the latch?
Finally had enough time and energy to tackle this engine swap!

yeah, just unhook it at the latch, you may have to remove the grille to get to it.
