dye products for door panel
What products are y'all using to dye your door panels an dash an trim. I recently bought a 2005 suburban 60/40 for my truck. Its grey or charcoal grey leather in almost perfect condition. I was hoping to find a black one. Which would be easier to dye. Panels dash an trim grey or dye the seat black an buy new blk door panels an trim

SEM Products, you can get it at your local English Color Paint & Supply. You're in Arlington so looks like the Grand Prairie location is the closest to you.

Re: dye products for door panel
I used SEM adhesion promotor and SEM Palomino color to paint my door panels from a lighter tan shade. It took several coats of Palomino to get the coverage I wanted. I also have a dash cap which sticks out a bit and rubs against the door panel, so the SEM paint wears off in that spot. SEM is about $14 a can here, and I used a few cans just to do a few door panels.
I recommend just getting aftermarket door panels. That way you don't loose the textured surface of the panels, and you save time and get a more professional result, and don't have to touch up the worn areas from time to time. Also, I had to lightly wet sand the finished product because the adhesion promotor left a rough surface which I did not like. |

Re: dye products for door panel
Thanks BIGMIKE608 ill be checking them out friday if im off work. Only about 10min from me. N2TRUX thanks for the info.
How well does this dye hold up. I really want black interior. An the easiest would probably be dyeing the new seats black an ordering all new blk interior parts. But being my daily driver is this dye gonna rub off on my clothes if i do my seats. Especially after getting wet from rain an driving or hot summers. Thanks again for all your help |

Re: dye products for door panel
ColorBond sold by LMC works pretty good, sprayed some trim pieces black and it came out nice and smooth, dries to a eggshell sheen
