Correct breather set up for differential

My front and rear diff have rubber breather lines coming off them but unfortunately they are open. What is the correct set up for those breather hoses. I don't like that they are open, they let moisture and debris in.

The have the type of clamp u can get off woth channel locks and a breather end/cap. I've seen it somewhere they got breather bolts that go in the diff bolt where u check/add fluid at. Made of cork. If you're going for a driver/shower it's pretty clean

on my K30 i routed the front axle breather up beside the battery, & the rear up as hi as i could get it on the box. they had the plastic, always sticking breathers, found some nice billet ones on line for just a couple bucks.
if your really manly, you could do like my bud did, he slipped baby bottle nipples over his. works good, keeps the crap out & lets them vent, but you are driving around with nipples on your truck...

Hahah nipples. That reminds me of the a lame non turbo cummins that did the ricer fly by past me. So I can just get any random breather and put it on? I wasn't sure if there was a lot of vacumn or something and I would disturb it.

Naa any sort of breather that keeps debris out will be fine. The is very very very minimal if any air that will need to escape.

As the air and fluid heats inside it expands. A breather just allows that to come out rather than blowing oil out your seals. Just route a longer hose like said above

From the factory it had a small plastic fitting with a loose cap on the end.

You can get these from Classic Parts for like $1.95. I got one for the differential and gas vent earlier this year.
