kick panels

Hello to everyone, well I'm thinking of putting in a set of kick panels in my 72 Chevy C10 w/ my own Alpine 6 1/2" round speakers. The Alpine speaker depth is 2 3/8, would anyone know if the panel depth is the same? Thank you

Where are you purchasing them from? The manufacturer should have the max. depth included in the description, if not I would ask them.
There are many aftermarket kick panels available.

Thanks K10Dream69, but I've been looking all over the internet for an hour now and the only thing their description tells me is they come with or without 6 1/2" speakers and different watts. I can't seem to find anyplace that tells me in their description the depth of the speaker they come with or the depth of the panel speaker hole itself. I would call them but I would think most places are closed on Sundays. I just thought someone had a pair and could tell me. If not, then I'll call one of the places tomorrow. I put Alpine SPS 6.5s in. They fit fine, but they were a bit too deep so they kinda pulled the panel out a bit. I would put some sound deadener on the metal before installing everything for sure.

You will likely have to trim the edges of the kick panel (I had to cut small sections off) but its no big deal. Easy install. The Alpines sound great down there, with an Alpine amp behind them of course

Oh, I couldnt really screw the speakers into the kick panel cuz the holes werent right, so I used gorilla glue, and bolted the kick panel itself to the sheet metal. Easier and cleaner than it sounds, and gorilla glue aint going anywhere

But get sound deadener.

Josh, sound deadener......do you mean like felt or something like that between the plastic panel and the metal?

Like dynamat or something. I used BQuiet cuz its cheaper

Someone told me the depth the speakers that come with the panels are 1 3/4, the Alpines I was looking at are 2 3/8. I'm going to try and find a nice set of speakers with the same depth so they fit right in. Maybe Pioneers w/ more watts than the ones that come with them.

My speakers were to deep so I cut a piece 3/4 mdf round, the same size as the speaker openings.I then used boom matt housings.works great.look up boom mat, they are affordable.

those are the ones I used. Fit just fine, and all the kick panels are pretty much the same. They came with a plastic piece that can go in between the speaker and the panel, so it pulls them out a bit
