What are good brands of air tools? What brands should I stay away from? I'm gettin an air compressor tomorrow and need to know what to look for.

ignersol rand makes very good air tools for the price, their composite impacts are by far the most powerful i have ever used. as far as air ratchets go, i have never had good luck with ignersol rand, they wear out very fast with daily use. if you have access to a snap-on truck, i would defiinately go for a snap-on air ratchet, but they are pricey i will say that much!

chevyforever what you say is true...kinda. Ingersol has some cheap jap crap that they stick there name on and it is no better than some stuff you buy at wal-mart. But if you step up to the plate and get their better stuff you will be happy and not be out near as much as snap-on. All their good stuff says "made in USA"...their cheaper stuff doesn't

I just bought one of the snap on composite ones...pretty strong, but a real strong price tag IMO too though.
If this is a hobby tool...go to sears. |
