?'s for you truck guys

Most of you are much more "truck" guys then I am, I'm mostly a big window 1/2 ton short bed kind of guy as opposed to those that just love all trucks, or so it seems. My question is what do you all think of the Chevy SSR?
I think they're cool, I really prefer the 05 and 06 due to the much more potent LS2 engine. I had a 05 but sold it, contemplating getting another.
What says you all?

If they blow your skirt up... go for it! I don't really car for them, but I'm sure someday they will be very valuable.

Re: ?'s for you truck guys

SSR's are awesome. I'd have one in a second if I could find a good low mileage one. They're like hen's teeth up here. Stick a blower on top of that LS and away you go. Even buy one of those before a Trailblazer SS

Re: ?'s for you truck guys

I'm the old Chevy truck guy, anything from 30's through 72. Small window, big window, no window doesn't matter. For work I want a long fleet. For a toy give me a short step. That's just the way I roll.

Re: ?'s for you truck guys

I'm a true truck lover,so I like 'em all.If I don't like how they are I make them how I like them. If I wanted an SSR I'd go right out and buy a Vette!

Re: ?'s for you truck guys

If I already had enough Corvette's in my collection I would get an SSR to complete the set. So far I have zero Corvettes in my collection.

But they look cool.

Re: ?'s for you truck guys

my brother in law loves old trucks, always wanted one, but has NO mechanical skills at all (computer tekkie). when the SSR came out, he saved up & bought a screaming yellow '04, & actually DAILY DRIVES it! sun, rain, even a few times in the snow.
for him, it's perfect, a reliable daily, yet he still has the looks of an old truck that he can't work on

Re: ?'s for you truck guys

Just seems to me to be today's version of an El Camino. If I were going to do something modern, I think I would get a panel version of the HHR and hot rod that.

Re: ?'s for you truck guys

i worked on them a bit when i worked for chevy
cool concept just not looks

its basically a trailblazer
if you could find a SS trailblazer with a 5.3, i recommend that
they feel cramped and kinda useless to me

but its based on your opinion and what you would like

Re: ?'s for you truck guys

SSR? no. If possible I'd rather choose a GMC Syclone.

Re: ?'s for you truck guys

GM's attempt to join in on the retro theme, but that's just my take on them
