Re: Have a question about frames?

Goin to take a stab in the dark, i'd say "heavy half" or "big 10" frames... Seems like they would make sence to be thicker and beefier know what i mean?

Re: Have a question about frames?

More like a "heavy 3/4" -

C6P is a heavy duty frame/suspension option that bumps the GVW on a 20 series from 7200 to 8600 lbs.

Re: Have a question about frames?

C6P as far as I know is GM's H.D. suspension for 3/4 ton trucks. So kind of like a "heavy half" or "Big 10" for the 3/4 ton trucks.

What's the GVW on your 3/4 ton? (ie, 7200 vs 8600).

The point of this thread was that there are two different frames within the 3/4 ton family (not the difference between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton) - so slightly different question.

Keith,

Yes I realize that. I was showing another thread where this frame chart came from.

My 83 is 8600 GVW , I thought the designation " C6P " was a Crewcab or 3+3 frame

Ah - thanks. Nope - not crew or 3+3, as evidenced by your chart which shows it only with C20903 (3/4 ton reg cab 2wd) and K20903 (3/4 ton reg cab 4wd).

Nope - it's just the randomly created RPO code, like C60, or B96 or Z28 or Z71 or ZL1.

The alpha-numeric was just next in line when they created the content.

It can't be dissected as you are suggesting.

This

http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs...olet-Truck.pdf

does not show C6P as available in 1976.

So my interpretation would be "no".
