My 77 GMC 4x4 needs a new rear axle. 12 bolt?
Hey guys,
It's been a while since I have been on here since I sold my 62 pickup. I recently bought a "project" 77 GMC 4x4 that wasn't intended to be a project. It currently has a 2005ish MY 1500 pickup rear end in it with disc brakes, a bent axle shaft and no e-brake. I have a Dana 44 in the front and I want to put a better rear end in it like a 12 bolt or 10 bolt and have been trying to research what years have a bolt in and go 12 or 10 bolt rear end does 64-82 k10 sound right? If it makes any difference I am running 35" tires and don't plan on doing any extreme off roading. Posted via Mobile Device

I pulled a 12 bolt outta a 85 blazer to try n see how 3.08's worked (bad idea!) and it bolted right in. I did have to turn my lift blocks around because of the perch angle but other wise no problems. I'd say 73-87 sice they were all "basically" the same underneath.
