Glass help

I'm looking for a favor. My truck came with no door glass or rear window. I would like to have glass cut locally, instead of paying a lot to ship from LMC.

Is there some one who would be willing to make a template of the door glass, (the style with vent window and no chrome trim around the edge of the glass, 1951) and the rear glass, and mail the templates to me. If your glass is out of the truck, this would be quite simple. A measurement of the glass thickness would be great too. I would gladly reimburse for postage and any other costs.

PM me if you could help out.

Thanks!

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Re: Glass help

I bought the templates from one of the on line suppliers - LMC, Brothers or Jim Carter. Sorry, I didn't keep the templates.

Re: Glass help

jimig1,

I found a glass shop in Andover that will cut it for me. They did my windshield, just a little over $100.

Thanks to mechanixman on this forum, I just need the side glass templates. Anyone??

Re: Glass help

I priced having glass cut locally but it still came out much cheaper to by the glass at classic parts and have it shipped..
