Fuel line and ignition anti theft?
I've been wondering today....LMC used to (might still do) sell a switch to isolate the battery one could install under their dash to make their truck a little harder to steal. I came with a little key.
Could one do that with the fuel line? Run it say under the seat and install a key-lockable valve to turn the fuel line off? Thoughts? |

Re: Fuel line and ignition anti theft?
I can see two ways to do it. One is to run an electric fuel pump; the other is to install a fuel solenoid. It would definitely work. However, if you have a carburetor, there might be enough fuel in the bowl to get the truck just far enough to cause a problem before the lack fuel delivery shuts it down.

I was thinking the same thing, they could move the truck but it would quit on them before they got very far.
Electric fuel pump? That's an idea too. Anyone else have any ideas? |
