Re: Haven't seen this lately. What did you do this weekend?

Dropped the 700R4 and installed a fresh TH350. Just need to find a dipstick that actually fits and wait for a few fittings to come in to install my transmission cooler. I had an I6 TH350 dipstick, but it didn't quite fit with all the crap on the back of my V8 (TBI motor, so has that annoying hard water pipe on the back intake manifold).

I bolted the front accessories and hooked up some wires on my 87 Chevy with a 4.3. Hoping to get it running this week with the new engine.

Re: Haven't seen this lately. What did you do this weekend?

I have been cleaning up the underside of the bed and rattle can spraying the whole underside black. Cleaned up and repainted the aluminum step bumper. Went to Phoenix to pick up a bumper with bumper guards yesterday. Went to two pick and pulls today looking for a factory jack. I learned that they get rid of all jacks immediately so that customers don't try to jack up the vehicles to assist in part removal in the yard.

So, I spotted a very nice 2001 Chrysler Sebring convertible with tan leather seats which I snagged, along with the center console. I need new seat belts in my truck, and even though it has a very nice recently rebuilt stock seat, I do like the idea of integral seat belts and more form fitting seats with built in headrests.

The Chrysler seats are a little tight for a plus size guy like me, but I think they would be better than the stock seat. The Chrysler seats have 5 bolts on each frame - 2 front, 2 back, 1 screwed into the center tunnel. Looks like just captive nut plates welded to the floor in the stock configuration. Since the bottom seat cushions are thinner than my truck seat, I think I can have a frame welded up to span the whole truck and catch the stock bolt holes, then modify the frame to accept the Chrysler bolt locations with grade 8 bolts, lock washers, and nuts.

Re: Haven't seen this lately. What did you do this weekend?

After some searching I got my old 77 c10 back. was a father sone project that i sold a year ago. lost father in march to cancer, and needed to get it back so I tracked it down and bought back. this weekend I replaced carburator, and pulled the drive shaft out to have the carrier bearing replaced. Just enjoyed the memories and comfort of having it home again.

removed the computer controlled carb and esc distributor from my 86 c-10 and replaced them both with a Edelbrock 1406 and a Mallory clone. also removed 98% of the emissions crap, need to remove the computer and associated wiring.

long expensive weekend, i hope it is worth it.

Re: Haven't seen this lately. What did you do this weekend?

Cleaned garage. It was a mess after working on a couple of boat and trailer projects. Pulled brackets off of an old 350 to prep and paint for the new 383 that will be dropped. Then I started on the front suspension. Replaced upper and lower ball joints. Ran out of time so that is it on the suspension. So I ordered drop shackles, this way I have work for next weekend.

Re: Haven't seen this lately. What did you do this weekend?

Found that I have a rat I have to hunt down and kill! A horrible slow agonizing death to this rat! BTW, I did see him and he is the biggest rat I have seen in a very very long time! Decided to build a nest on the intake manifold over the ten days I was away in Iowa for work.

He chewed through several wires under the hood of Emi's truck. Nothing important, Windshield Wiper motor wires, ground for AC (Non-op anyways) and the secondary ground for the alternator...

The hunt is on!!!

Got bilstein rear shocks. Those were a huge pain to get in. Van shocks are not easy.

Lowered truck problems man

Went to a track to learn how to do some minor stunt driving skills. Reverse 180 (rockford turn) and ebrake spins.
