Question What Would You Do With This Truck

1970 Chevy C/10 Short wheel base solid, with only surface rust here and there. Has a '71/72 front grill as you can see, was a four speed truck with a removeable transmission hump currently. Standard gauages, no or unreadable glove box ID. Has a 'oh C*#$p handle on the glove box door, multiple color body panels, drum brakes all four corners. No current engine or tranny installed, have most part to throw it all back together.

So what all that being said what would you guys do to it?

Then I'll later tell you my plans for getting it operational.

Re: What Would You Do With This Truck

Looks like somebody loosely hung their parts pile together. I think I'd have about 6 trucks if I did that...

Re: What Would You Do With This Truck

4 Wheel disc, LS3 E-Rod, 4L80E. air ride, but not slammed and notched!, nice fat steamrollers, power windows/locks, aftermarket gauges. factory buckets, hydra-boost, rack&pinion, tilt/cruse,delay,auto headlights, DRL, tonneau cover ect....
Exterior and balance of interior bone stock

This is the plan for my '70 minus the LS3 E-Rod.... I have a free 5.3L and a complete electrical system for a 1999 Z/71

Throw some 5 spoke mags on there, put an upgraded 350 in it, spray it with a rattle can and enjoy it. I'm not much for "fancy" I guess!

Re: What Would You Do With This Truck

Paint it a solid color (looks like cab is hugged orange I ould go with that) if you have a engine trans laying around go with that. I currently have a 454/ 700r4 needing anhome like this). Otherwise I would drop a 5.3 LS/ 4l60e in it.

Re: What Would You Do With This Truck

I'd put a '69/'70 grille back on it, then maybe primer the whole thing, paint it your favorite color, then see if you can fake your own patina

Re: What Would You Do With This Truck

I'd do a really nice camo job on it. 5/7 drop, 15x6 & 15x8 truck rally's powder coated black, a small block with a big cam and drive it to death.

Re: What Would You Do With This Truck

I have a 1990's truck roller 5.7L block, that is a roller motor. Going to throw in my 2201 Edelbrock camshaft, Add Eagle rotating forged assembly bored .30 over and build up.

Hoping to push 400+ once I'm done.

Re: What Would You Do With This Truck

Definitely 6.0 LS swap with your choice of auto or manual transmission. Lower it 5/7. 20x12 rear 20x8.5 front wheels and get it one color

Re: What Would You Do With This Truck

Whatever engine/trans combo you have is what Id use. 67 or 68 front clip(mostly because I have one laying around). 4/6 drop. Painted cab color w/black interior.

Re: What Would You Do With This Truck

Going to row down the road the way you see it in the pictures for now.

Just want a power plant and auto tranny that's reliable before winter.

I'll then build up my performance engine to go in later with upgrade transmission and floor shifter. Removing the manual pedal for just the auto setup. Making sure all drum brakes work safely and no major suspension issues.
