i've seen plenty of people now cutting the long bed frames down to swb. but what about the old bed sides? how hard of a process are we talking about here to cut those down to a swb?

Not that big of a deal to cut them down just take your time welding them back together.

It's been shown on here a bunch of times, it's been done and can be done. Make sure your measurements are correct and STRAIGHT and measure 10 times. Then make the straightest cut's you've ever made and it should go back together. You'll need to tweak the curved bodyline near the top of the bed at the back, and I think you may have to tweak the very bottom of the bed a bit as well (the angled part at the very bottom.)
